Leverkusen keen on Makinwa
By Nadia Carminati - Created on 9 May 2006
Bayer Leverkusen are reportedly interested in Palermo striker Stephen Makinwa.
The Nigerian joined the Rosanero last summer, but has failed to claim a regular spot in the starting line-up, with Andrea Caracciolo and David Di Michele playing the majority of games.
However, according to reports in Italy, Leverkusen remain keen on him and have already tabled an offer of €7 million (£5 million) but are yet to receive an answer from the Sicilian side.
Palermo supremo Maurizio Zamparini has already revealed that the club could offload the striker in the summer and the German side have been quick to express interest.
But they may face competition for the 23-year-old, with Chievo likely to join the race for him.
