Renato Augusto zu Liverpool?
Rafa Benitez is set to solve his right midfield problem by swooping for Bayer Leverkusen's Brazillian star Renato Augusto. Touted as one of the best ever products of Flamengo's youth academy Augusto signed for Leverkusen for an undisclosed fee last summer.
The Brazilian youth international is eager to move to the English Premiership and sees Liverpool's enquiry as the ideal escape route, particularly as Brazillian compatriots Fabio Aurelio, Lucas Leiva and Diego Cavalleri are at Anfield.
Renato could cost up to £10 million, however Rafa Benitez is hoping to raise the bulk of the money by selling Jermaine Pennant in the January transfer window, who has Tottenham, Stoke and Blackburn.
