Offensichtlich hat er es nicht verstehen können warum er im Pokal zur Halbzeit runter musste.

Was man ihm nicht absprechen kann, ist der Einsatz. Der stimmt. Deshalb bin ich zuversichtlich, dass wir noch einiges sehen werden von Ihm. Vielleicht ja schon nächste Woche.

Stürmer werden an Toren gemessen und dahingehend ist die Bilanz von Azmoun bislang desaströs. 500 Spielminuten, nur ein Tor und das war auch noch ein Geschenk vom Keeper.

I disagree. Augsburg scored 2 times out of 1 1/2 opportunities. That's badluck but shit happens. There will be allmost no Bundesliga match with no shots on goal of the opponent.
We had 24 shots wide. Several of them were great opportunities. After 2 games we have the 3rd highest rate of expected goals in Bundesliga. The result is zero points and position 18 at the table. To me it seems to be obvious that the main problem is not "horrible defense", but the horrible outcome from best opportunities. This of course is not only caused by Sardar but he can't be satisfied with his scoring rate.

Gegen Hoffenheim (ein Gegner auf anderem fussballerischen Level) könnte es zu deutlich weniger Absch(l)ussmöglichkeiten kommen. Da sollte unser duo infernal vorne allerdings nicht so grosszügig mit der Chancenverwertung umgehen. Sonst werd ich noch irre.

I did not say he had a good scoring rate. I said he seems to have regained his shape. He had some opportunities and will start scoring. The important thing is his teammates are starting to get used to him and have started looking for him. The coach allowed him to play the false 9 position in the preseason games which was good to make the rest of the team have to find him. As for the defense, that is a big mess and I am not sure if it can be fixed. What can the coach do if the players cannot win incoming punts and 2 players against 6 can get the header and control the ball. Watch any 5 minutes of the tape and you will see it for yourself.

Das bezweifle ich aber mal stark!

Aktuell sehe ich bei Azmoun wesentlich intelligentere Laufwege als bei Schick - der ist noch nicht im Spiel.
Und Pässe wie von Azmoun habe ich von Schick insgesamt noch nie gesehen.
Wirtz - wie schon von Versom geschrieben - kann wohl kaum unter "derzeit" gewertet werden.

Die Diskussion braucht man nicht zu führen, zwei völlig unterschiedliche Spielertypen. Aber wer gerne ein bisschen polarisieren will kann ja weiter machen.
