Bayer Leverkusen have snapped up Bulgarian starlet Atanas Kurdov from Levski Sofia for a reported fee of 350,000.
The 18-year-old, the son of former Bulgaria striker Petar Kurdov, has signed a four-year contract with the Bundesliga contenders.
Kurdov attracted the interest of several European clubs including Celtic and Monaco. In April, he had a trial with Tottenham Hotspur, where he might have linked up with compatriot Dimitar Berbatov.
Instead, he has signed for Berbatov's former club, with whom he reached the 2002 Champions League final.
